Vaser liposuction of the neck often refers to the submental chin area. Submental chin includes the area below the margin of the jaw, and extends onto the front of the neck. Regardless of one’s age, a collection of excess fat beneath the chin makes one look chubby, older and less athletic. Liposuction is usually the simplest, safest, and least expensive way to treat this cosmetic problem.
How does vaser liposuction work?
Vaser liposuction focuses low-energy ultrasound delivered by a thin laser fiber that’s inserted through small incisions. The ultrasound energy is focused on the part of the neck where you’d like to have a fatty pocket removed. After the fat is melted, a small cannula is used to suck out the liquefied fat. The energy from the laser does provide some skin tightening; you can expect the tightening effect to continue for up to six months post-op.
